what type of bottles…?
hey ladies im just wondering what type of bottles are good for very thick formula? i have tried drops in, venti air, Dr browns,and Evenflo purely comfort! which the evenflo seem to be the only ones that work some what! my sons formula is thick we also add a pinch of rice cereal for his reflex!
also has any used the Nuby ones? or MAM ULTIvent Bottles?
You might not need to switch all kinds of bottles, you may just have to go buy some different bottle nipples.
There are nipples you can specifically buy for this purpose, it’s never a good idea to try and make the hole bigger yourself.
All bottle brand holes should be very similar, so I don’t think any brands are going to have remarkably different sized standard nipples, you will have to purchase some non-standard teats, or variable flow teats, they usually look like they have a bit slit in them (Yes they do make these, unfortunately it’s made every mother think that putting rice cereal in bottles is OK because that’s what they’re for….but these nipples are designed to suit your situation, that being that doctor has suggested in the best interest of baby’s health that he needs rice cereal this way).
