I am currently following Fred Thompson and Hunter Douglas. Both candidates have great ideas on how to REFORM our economy . Our economy includes; foreign trade, social security, and fair tax.
11Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. 12For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
I looked at the comparisons and I would vote for Governor Huckabee at this point. This is not an Arkansas thing for me either. Truth is, we are all weak and with flaw but I want someone who is bold enough to stand with God and on the issues that God cares about! We are in a very dark world and I will not participate in this hateful and proud attitude that I see and feel among many people in this country. I believe in patience and compassion for all including the immigrants. I also believe that the laws are to be obeyed but the laws are not always humane. So what are people supposed to do?
Governor Huckabee is clear on his stand on stem cell research, abortion, and gay marriage. I appreciate his boldness and fear of God on these issues. I agree with his comments on global warming but I also believe that global warming is a part of the natural disasters for our generation. I also believe that we need to make better financial decisions and pay our debt.
I see an inner strength in Huckabee that appears Godly. He was also overweight and lost weight as an example to the obesity in Arkansas. He appears to have good character and cares about people.
I hope and pray for the best leader in our country. I will vote in obediance to God. I will not sit as a Christian and do nothing! I believe Satan gets his way when we do nothing.
As far as our country I will pray for a revival. Christians are few anymore but we must continue to stand and speak the truth. In it all, I will trust God!
Danelle - I like your comments. I am very encouraged and excited about Huckabee. My husband and I have been following him. He appears to be doing for well in the Iowa race - predicted to be 2nd behind Romney who has spent millions campaigning and Huckabee has little money so God is definitely at work!!
Last night on the news channels people were talking about him and so he has become a threat in the race. Praise God!
This is from Huckabee's presidential email we are receiving -- I see God at work.
Yesterday I emailed to say that we had broken 20% in the latest CBS/NYT poll conducted in Iowa. Well today, a new American Research Group poll reports that we are still gaining momentum and are now at 24% in Iowa, just 2% behind Governor Romney!
How significant is this new poll? Well a news report on MSNBC earlier this week said that Governor Romney has spent over $10,000,000 on television ads in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina. We have spent $0 on television advertising. Two polls now put us within striking distance of Governor Romney
I will vote in the upcoming election. I will probably vote for a democrat and hopefully that will be Obama. If I were to vote for a republican, it would be McCain or Ron Paul, but I doubt that's going to happen anytime soon. I'm a firm believer in helping others through social programs- I truly believe that that is what Jesus would do.
Noelene, thanks for your comment. Here is my take, if Obama has the money or could tell us where the money would come from to pay for more social programs them it would be fine with me provided that he don't taxe me more to achive what you would like. The reality is that the Democrats do increase taxes to pay for all new social programs each time they run the show in Washington on social programs promises.
Im not a very politics-involved person, but I have to agree with Mr Cobian, universal healthcare sounds great...but when you realize that it has LITERALLY bankrupted countries in the past, how then do we expect a different outcome? The reality is, people dont and cant be expected to work for free, therefore it is necessary for SOMEONE to pay for these social services. Where will it come from? From our checks....
Luke 18:18-25 And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?...Jesus...said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me. And when he heard this, he was very sorrowful: for he was very rich. And when Jesus saw that he was very sorrowful, he said, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God! For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
Matthew 25:
31 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left. 34 Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, 36 I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ 37 Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? 38 And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? 39 And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ 40 And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, [6] you did it to me.’
41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.’ 44 Then they also will answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you?’ 45 Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.’ 46 And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”
Hi J.M! Those are some of my favorite scriptures above. I am very much into christian social justice and I think that Jesus provides the best example as to how we are to act towards the "least of these." Jesus did not send people away because he didn't have enough resources, he and the disciples thanked God for the very little they had and then God blessed them so that they could fed thousands! As a Christian, I don't mind having my taxes raised to help others ,especially when I don't really "see" the money leaving my hand. Frankly, it wasn't mine to begin with and I am happy to give it back to others in service to God.
